Below are a few essays I received from students two weeks ago. The students all delivered their work to me at the same time. There was a leader in the group that said, "You said things are really important if it is said more than once. So here are a bunch of reasons you must change your mind."
Clearly my students are listening to me. I've shared, in reading and writing lessons, that authors restate important ideas multiple times in multiple different ways. The three authors of the essays wanted to make sure I didn't miss their point. Even if I was trying to ignore their point of view (something I'd never do), I got their point immediately, and I was pretty impressed. Read the all of the essays and notice the top of essay 3. It says D3, as in draft 3. Clearly this topic was something worth getting out and getting right. What are your thoughts?
